SOPHIE

Abby gave me a holistic summary of all the necessities for my professional development, including resumes, interviews, industry coverage and recruitment tips. I benefited the most from Abby’s tips on how to make connections, which was my biggest struggle. Her coaching was difficult and pushed me to get comfortable being uncomfortable....

Abby’s training helped me land an internship during my junior year! I actually did her coaching while applying/interviewing for internships and I landed an internship as an IT Internal Audit Intern at LPL Financial. I just recently started working at EY as an Assurance Associate, which I can 100% say her training helped me land as well!

Abby wants you to gain the most you can; her help will always be an asset to help you start your professional journey!

ELIZABETH

Abby helped my flourish as a professional. She edited my resume to perfection, continuously working with me to fine tune the format and content until my experiences shined on paper. Her mentorship, especially in advice on interviews and emails definitely landed me several positions. The interview practice that she spearheaded allowed me to concisely and clearly demonstrate my abilities as well as allow my personality to come through. This ultimately was a big factor in me landing an internship, after several rounds of interviews, with Medtronic. Her emailing training helped me sound professional while giving me the ability to mass email while sounding personable. This helped me, through many tries, to land a research position with UCSD’s medical school

Even outside of professional development, Abby has bettered my life as someone dependable, loyal, and positive who I consider one of my biggest role models. Thanks Abby!

MEGHA

In terms of aiding professional development, Abby really helped me work on my resume and interview skills that gave me the confidence to apply for internships. I remember after my first interview, she told me how the more you prepare for interviews the worse you feel about them because you can pick out things you did wrong - so as long as I could keep pushing through them I would keep getting better….That’s helped build my confidence. In terms of internships I got an offer from RSM and Qualcomm thanks to Abby's program.

JADYN

During my undergraduate studies at UC San Diego, Abby’s thorough curriculum provided the foundation for me to grow professionally. Abby fosters a safe learning environment and walks you step by step through how to present your best self.  After her training, I was able to land 2 internships, and was hired as a full time Project Manager at Kaiser Permanente after I graduated. Abby is a phenomenal mentor that helps you leverage your strengths and I am forever grateful to have her as a friend and peer!

JUSTIN

Abby aided me in many aspects of my professional development. On top of building and perfecting my resumes and cover letters, Abby has facilitated an environment to effectively build my confidence in interviews and as an individual.

Her mentorship has landed me many interviews and ultimately internships, primarily in technical roles (Prospect 33 and Western Asset Management).

I can confidently endorse her skills and expertise in professional development.

BEN

Abby did wonders for my professional development. Before her coaching during freshman year of college, I still considered myself a clueless high school student. With Abby’s guidance, I was encouraged to not only write my very first resume, but to also revise and update over the course of 10 weeks. From interview preparation to building public speaking confidence, Abby guided me to take my first step, and many more, into the professional world.

As a Computer Science major, I attribute much of my success of receiving an internship offer and a subsequent full time offer at Amazon AWS to Abby’s mentorship.

ASMA'

I just got an offer from a law firm called Linklaters to support their sustainability, community investment and corporate responsibility work. Abby's coaching went such a long way especially for my consulting firm interviews. I made it to stage 3 of 4 at Accenture for a sustainability consultant role. I interviewed with Deloitte (they ended up focusing on internal candidates), Credit Suisse (said I was overqualified), Dalberg (didn’t make it past the first round), BlackRock (interviewed but was told there was a preference for someone that has worked in finance), and Open Capital - a small boutique consulting firm in Africa (got the offer but turned it down).

Thank you Abby so much for everything. My notes from our sessions went such a long way for me!

ELISE

Abby helped me in every aspect of my professional development. Beginning with a simple introduction to what I needed and following through with intense oversight, I now have an application ready portfolio. When I first began with Abby all I had was a weak and unorganized resume, listing activities that were not relevant and actually made me look worse. Though the entirety of my professional knowledge and readiness has improved, the most drastic changes can be seen in my resume, my professional network, and most importantly, my interview skills.

After consistent feedback and countless drafts, I now have a resume I feel comfortable passing along without a second thought. My ease when reaching out to professionals in my field of interest has improved significantly as well. As a result, I have expanded my network considerably. In addition, Abby taught me how to approach interview questions and allowed me to practice until I became much more confident.

Abby’s mentorship landed me a position as the finance chair on the Undergraduate Communication Society’s executive board at UC San Diego. By helping me expand my professional network, I made a connection that provided me with a head start to apply and interview for this position. I also have been hired as an assistant within the Financial Analysis Office at UC San Diego. I was only able to score an interview because of Abby’s feedback on my resume, as well as encouragement to participate in more organizations that would push me towards my desired field. After being accepted to interview, I knew exactly how I needed to prepare and felt assured in my skills. Accordingly, I nailed the interview and got the job.

I believe Abby is an incredible mentor who is well qualified to aid in professional development. She is always prepared with feedback and assistance. However, I believe that Abby’s most valuable trait as a mentor is how she leads by example. I feel secure in following her guidance because I can see first-hand how the outcome can look.
